Hospersa, the majority trade union representing nursing and administrative staff within the Netcare Group, declared that last week’s picketing at these hospitals has drawn no response from Netcare’s management.

Hospersa’s General Secretary, Noel Desfontaines, says that actions will now be embarked on to show that its members are serious.

“We did not want to strike and last week we started picketing, but we’ve since heard no word from management. This means that they are now taking us for granted,” Desfontaines said.
