It’s one of the most recognisable names in fashion – and the continent of Africa has now become synonymous with Louis Vuitton’s latest collection.

The iconic French label’s Spring Summer 2012 collection, created by Style Director Kim Jones under the Artistic Direction of Marc Jacobs, has two major themes – Ivy League Prep and the African Sahara.

The Africa section, which debuted at the Paris Fashion Week in June, features unique designs influenced by the clothing of the Maasai Warriors tribe which includes silk ties with 24-karat gold threading and silk windbreakers with graphic Maasai prints.

Other items include merino wool blankets, scarves in cashmere and cotton, cashmere blend sweaters and shorts, quilted jackets and two-toned desert boots and sandals with alligator accents.
