Comedy Central Africa prepares for screen debut

US comedy brand available in 47 territories across sub-Saharan Africa

Hit US television channel Comedy Central will hit sub-Saharan African TV screens tonight as it makes its debut on 6 December.

Comedy Central Africa will launch on MultiChoice’s DStv platform in 47 territories. The channel, run by MTV Networks Africa (MTVNA), is an English language comedy channel running both new content and re-runs of popular series’ and comedy specials.

Comedy Central screens global hit franchises such as The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, The Colbert Report and brand new episodes of South Park.

The channel launches at 7.30pm CAT with a one-hour special from US stand-up act Jeff Dunham, then The Comedy Central Roast of Charlie Sheen followed by two new brand new episodes of South Park.
